I write this in Paris, where I just spoke at the Center for Research and Interdisciplinarity. If you’re not familiar with the CRI, it is the embodiment of successful self-directed learning within a university setting. It’s a place where students meet once a week to set their own learning goals, and from there, they direct their own studies.
