In order to learn you must be cognitively uncomfortable, but you can't be cognitively uncomfortable if you are physically or psychologically uncomfortable.

@irasocol your last quote of post.. extremely timely. thank you. curious.. in order for phys/psych comfort.. is phys personal place needed
I believe that we all need Caves, Campfires, + Waterholes every day in life, in school @monk51295 (private, cooperative, social)
@irasocol any idea why?
basic evolution. We're social animals, but we're not Zebras, we need time apart from the herd. Why we can see the herd...
..while Zebras cannot. That shifting perspective is basic to humanity
@irasocol and part of that time apart has to be in a physical place? not just a mental space?
depends on who you are at that moment. Sometimes "spacing out" works, or staring out the window, sometimes we need to hide

space is huge.
thomas:
once safety is achieved and sustained we might look at rwanda post genocide... people lived amongst each other and had tribunals, they had to because of the space
we see space differently in the west/developed world, do we decolonize together through oppression or do we do this as individuals?
