what is college for

i think if we keep i mine that connections today are way beyond what they ever have been.. ie: we can connect to more people... we can connect to more info.. we can connect more info to more info.. and then more people can keep doing that.. we begin to taste what exponentiation means. and hopefully, we begin to respectfully question what the basics are.
i think if we pay attention to Clay Shirky's cognitive surplus and Steven Johnson's adjacent possibilities.. we begin to see a new classroom. we begin to see city as school.. city as university. if ti pleases you.. world as college.
i think if we wonder more about the potential of choice (and i'm talking Krishnamurti-type choice, partial freedom is no freedom), we may stat creating more spaces of permission to be, where people together in a space is a per choice experience. where true intellectual learning is driven by one's own curriculum.. one's own curiosities.
i think this could happen, if we could let go of our addiction to validation and credentialing and judgment.
