jan 14 am tweets lean toward Will's bold schools who do both.

In all things circulation is more vital than possession. Seek to be a conduit.
this is what we see as a cog in making change happen. can public school become a conduit to communities of practice. can we become more conduits of learning, than possessors of knowledge...

To Find Happiness, Forget About Passion?
fitting with jan 13 detox on the different perspectives of be you and meism..
when you detox to be you, at the core, you find others.. you find service..
believing very strongly that we all (at the core, and without oppression perhaps) have a bent toward connecting, toward compassion, toward service

"We need happier more engaged learners - and if test scores take a dip - so be it! " @ewanmcintosh#domoreedu
RT @davidErogers: Should we take a hit in test scores for happier learners? #domoreedu I wonder what@jrchumphries thinks?
esp responding to tom's last 2 tweets... bringing the flipped idea up again - the essence of the tweets this am and this post
so really to Will and to our districts transformative assessment and gates/lanny's project, and pbs steve's interest in a plan:
even though we went through this 3 years ago and believe there is a *better way, if we must continue appeasing the test gods until they go away on their own, then yeah, let's do the boxed curriculum, ie: the school math, etc, in a most efficient way, so that perhaps 20% of our time, perhaps 80% of our time can be freed up for us to do what matters most to us.
let's just make sure we are transparent that that is what we are doing. we are appeasing the test gods, but in a more time/resource/people efficient manner. let's please not call this the best way for our kids to learn, or a new way to learn, or a best approach. it's simply a hospice move to get us back to living.
*(see we're thinking there are enough of us, more than a turning of the school of fish, or flight of birds amount, more than 15-20% - ian jukes sardines analogy, to just decide to not play both games, to just decide the tests won't rule us, because whatever they are currently offering us, maybe we don't need)
an ending of sorts of tweets for now..
and how fitting - as a big part of the why... why question the degree of boldness...

our addiction to doling out money.. running to the bright lights... letting others determine what success means. wondering why we keep feeling the urge to wait... to wait to be us.
