content was fixed,  
access/process/connectivity was variable.

Today:  
access/process/connectivity is fixed,
content is variable.

the divide i'm worried about isn't the digital divide - but the participation divide

it's not getting hold of the tech - but feeling comfortable being a participatory piece

how do we give people sense of participation, improve their ability to use tools for social value

This level will be the toughest and most rewarding to see each student achieve. Success at this level would guarantee their was access and process provided by the school, and by the teacher. Connectivity would be to access, like critical thinking is to standardized content.

1) seen through student-owned personal learning networks (with or w/o tech)

Student independently demonstrate how to network a) safely b) ethically c) effectively
Students create their own public - engaged in meaning-making and writing about self-selected topics that are relevant and interesting to them, like Cameron and Simeon.- who know intuitively how to create value, add their default intention is to share it with others - most of the time for free.

2) students own rich questioning

Notice - not rich tech - tutors roll will always be about the learning, not the tools.

3) students access classroom teacher as facilitator only    

They demo abilities to self automate 1. info processing, 2. global communications and 3. self-direction and assessment .

 

4) student demos ability to repeat till 1,2,3 is flow
