He pays them to train to be world-class developers and connects them with employers around the world looking for top technical talent. During our chat he refuted the dystopian view that technology is taking jobs away, emphasized the importance of investing in Internet access, and reminded us that although we've always thought of Africa as a place we give to, in 20 years there will be more workers out of Africa than the rest of the world combined. Also, he has a killer and infectious laugh.
